Resume Consultation
Do you need help with your resume or cover letter? Do you have a ton of great experience, but you’re not sure how to present it right? Have you sent out a million resumes, and haven’t landed a single job interview?
The Challenge
Breaking into the entertainment industry is hard; so is maintaining a career after it’s been established. You’d like to think your reputation and network will help you find jobs for the rest of your life, but it’s just not always the case. Sometimes you simply have to send out a resume and cover letter.
But what should they look like? How can you put your best foot forward, when it’s just a list of credits?
We're Here to Help
Our team has decades of combined experience, both finding jobs and hiring PA's and assistants. We started out working at a below-the-line agency, where we learned the best way to present your credits by. the agency represented department heads of every variety, including DP's, editors, production designers, even line producers. It turns out, this format works well for PA's and assistants, too!
In the ninety minute, online session,1 we’ll show you how to properly format your resume, as well as highlight your skills and experience to increase your chances of getting an interview. Plus, we’ll discuss your career goals, both short and long term, and how best to achieve them.
To get started, send your cover letter and/or resume (in a format I can edit, preferably a word doc) to AnonymousProductionAssistant@gmail.com. Then, we’ll (virtually) meet over Google Doc to discuss what you wrote (and maybe didn’t write). Together, we’ll edit every aspect of it, from the overall structure down to the smallest typo.
The whole process takes about an hour and a half, but by the end of it, you’ll not only know what we changed, but why. It’s a collaborative process, so you can carry that knowledge into the future.
What’s the Cost?
Most of the production assistant resumes we’ve seen online are completely wrong, written by people who clearly have never stepped foot in a production office. And most of them charged upwards of $500 to give you awful advice.
We know when you’re looking for work, you can’t afford that. The personalized consultation breaks down like this:
$125 per resume
$125 per cover letter
$200 for both combined
That's it. No surprises, no hidden fees. Plus, you'll get a free subscription to the TAPA Substack.
You Can Do It!
Obviously, I can’t promise you’ll get a job, or even a call back. There are many reasons those things do and do not happen, a lot of which have nothing to do with you. I don’t even get called back most of the time; it’s the nature of the business. But I can promise your resume and cover letter will be a lot more readable and professional.
Payments are done through Paypal, but you don’t have to have an account; a regular credit card will do.
