Account Coordinator for Metro Public Relations
Metro PR, an entertainment-focused communications firm, is hiring an Account Coordinator. This team member will support a range of clients that may include media companies, streaming platforms, podcasts, books/authors, and events. The ideal candidate enjoys variety in their day, is comfortable working across different types of clients and priorities, and is eager to learn.
The Account Coordinator is responsible for handling the day-to-day administrative aspects of account management, including scheduling, research, and media tracking. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, foresight, and the ability to multitask, ask questions and navigate through a fast-paced environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop PR expertise, learn from senior staff, and contribute to the success of our clients’ PR campaigns and initiatives.
Candidates should have at least one year of experience in a fast-paced environment, with some background in communications or public relations, ideally in an agency setting. Candidates should be tapped into pop culture, entertainment industry news, sports and social media. The ideal candidate has some working knowledge of media monitoring tools (Cision, Muckrack, etc.)
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule internal and external meetings/calls with meticulous attention to detail
Centralize and manage account assets and press materials including digital press kits, comprehensive press reports, and media lists
Prepare client meeting agendas and take comprehensive notes
Track daily media coverage using various media monitoring tools
Generate press reports for internal and external distribution
Draft client press opportunity briefing sheets and itineraries for review
Conduct industry and client research as instructed by account leads
Stay informed of industry news in entertainment/business/advertising trades and social media
Join internal brainstorms and gradually contribute proactively
Provide on-site support for client media engagements as needed, including conferences, speaking opportunities, red carpet events, and launch events
Facilitate phone and in-person interviews between clients and media
Receive training in pitch drafting and media outreach strategy, at manager’s discretion

Proactive ownership of responsibilities, including effectively ‘managing up’ by anticipating team/account needs and providing clear, timely updates on all tasks
Genuine interest in the work and media landscape, as well as building relationships
Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation for this role ranges between $22 and $24/hour, depending on skills and experience. We offer health insurance, vision/dental insurance, cell phone stipend, paid holidays, sick, wellness and vacation time off, additional paid leave blocks after 3rd and 6th year employment milestones, paid parental leave, and a 401K plan.
Workplace:
Metro is a hybrid workplace, but this is a Los Angeles-area position. Candidates should reside in the Los Angeles area to accommodate regular in-person workdays, client events and other in-person obligations. Typical working hours for this position are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, however, flexibility is required, and overtime, including nights and weekends, may be necessary based on business needs. This is a non-exempt position, where the employee is entitled to overtime pay. Overtime work will be compensated in accordance with state overtime laws.
